Abstract
This talk will give an introduction into Ethereum鈥檚 data sharding and how it allows Ethereum to scale as a blockchain. The main focus will be data availability sampling, which is the technique that allows this to work without changing Ethereum鈥檚 security model, that does not rely on an honest majority to provide its validity guarantees. However, while blockchains currently can mostly survive only using gossip as their P2P network model, data availability sampling requires new P2P network paradigms that are currently an area of open research.聽
